Coach Eric Chelle has expressed his intention to revamp the Super Eagles by introducing fresh talent into the squad. He believes that bringing in new players will increase competition for positions, ultimately strengthening the team. For the recent 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, Chelle selected several uncapped players, including Slavia Praha defender Igho Ogbu, Genk striker Tolu Arokodare, and Niger Tornadoes midfielder Papa Daniel. The coach is already identifying additional key areas to reinforce ahead of the June international break, during which the Super Eagles are set to play three friendly matches as part of their preparation for the crucial World Cup qualifiers in September.

The positions Chelle aims to strengthen include goalkeeper, left fullback, central defender, box-to-box midfielder, right winger, and striker.
