Stuttgart and Leeds in contact with the talented Nigerian Anthony Dennis

Nigerian midfield sensation Anthony Junior Dennis may be on his way out of Turkish Super League club Göztepe, as growing interest from German Bundesliga side Stuttgart and English Championship team Leeds United gains momentum, Africafoot has exclusively learned. The young talent, capable of playing both as a central and box-to-box midfielder, has been in outstanding form for Göztepe this season. A high-value transfer is expected in the summer, with the 20-year-old’s contract running until 2027. Having initially joined the club in July 2023, Dennis extended his deal in May of the previous year. Sources indicate that Göztepe has set an asking price of around 5 million euros for his potential sale.

According to insights from the Elite Project Group, the agency managing Dennis’ career, Stuttgart and Leeds United have already engaged in talks with Göztepe regarding a transfer. A representative confirmed that both clubs made initial inquiries this week, with Stuttgart showing the most enthusiasm. However, Göztepe remains hesitant, preferring to assess additional offers before making a final decision. The club is reportedly holding firm on its valuation of 5 million euros, reflecting Dennis’ increasing reputation.

Nicknamed “the new Baleba” and seen as a future replacement for Wilfred Ndidi in Nigeria’s national team, Dennis has impressed with his passing ability, defensive contributions, and attacking play. This season, he has featured in 23 matches for Göztepe, delivering two assists, while last season he recorded one goal in 15 appearances. His performances have earned him a call-up to the Nigerian senior squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe on March 21 and 25. Meanwhile, Göztepe is preparing for its next league fixture against Sivasspor as the season progresses.
